Elect Yolanda Ford for Mayor of Missouri City, Texas
Yolanda Ford is native of Missouri City, TX. She holds a Bachelors of Science (B.S) in Psychology from the University of Houston and a Masters of Architecture (M.ARCH) from Prairie View A & M University.
Collectively, Yolanda has over 18 years of experience in urban planning, public policy,
economic development, project management, architectural design, leadership, land
development and acquisitions.
A few highlights of her professional/political career consist of:
- practicing as the in-office Urban Planner for the former City of Houston’s District-B Council Member,
- overseeing the City of Houston’s Parks Planning Department which included
managing 6 staff, 37,000 acres of parkland inventory and a forty million dollar
parkland fund,
- managing the multi-family housing development and land acquisitions projects
for one of the top community development corporations, Avenue CDC, which is
located in the City of Houston and
- serving as a City Planner, City Council Member and then the first female and
person of color to serve as the Mayor for the City of Missouri City, TX.
Enthusiastically and genuinely, Yolanda radiates a sincere passion for serving the
community and delivering results for clients. She has worked across diverse platforms
within various for-profit, nonprofit and governmental entities. She believes in driving
positive, sustainable outcomes when it comes to building and improving communities.
